With all of our Stairlift Rental Packages, there is no fixed or minimum term. You simply arrange with us to have your Rental Stairlift Installed and you keep it for as long as you need it. If your circumstances change and you no longer need the Stairlift, one phone call is all that is required to arrange removal. Once we have completed this, your stairs will look exactly as they did before installation.
No - Our rental pricing structure is very simple - Your monthly rental fee is fixed for the duration of your hire and includes all of your standard maintenance, servicing and breakdown cover if needed.
Of Course. When you rent a stairlift, we will also provide a purchase price if required. At any point you can choose to pay this purchase price, less any funds that we have already received and take ownership of the stairlift. We also offer ownership where certain rental periods are achieved. Why not take a look at our Guaranteed Buy Back Page or call 0800 530 0007 for more details.
A basic straight stairlift can be installed in under two hours. Slidetrack installations can take slightly longer but all stairlift installations, whether simple straight lifts or more complicated curved products, are all installed same day.
All our straight stairlift carriages and footplates have perimeter safety edges which detect obstructions and stop the lift from moving to avoid incidents. Additional safety micro-switches in seat arms and swivels, and many other general safety circuits and mechanisms assure user comfort and safety.
In line with EU Directives, our lifts are powered by batteries which are topped up by a full-time, low voltage charging system. If they are kept on charge during normal power supply, the batteries will always be fully charged.
We have an ingenious product called a slidetrack to manage upper and lower rail intrusion and we can also supply hinged rails where there is a doorway or downstairs corridor. The slidetrack uses a shorter, motorised stairlift rail that travels up and down the staircase to facilitate upper and lower access for the user. When not in use, you can simply fold away the arms, seat and footrest, and park the stairlift halfway up the stairs to keep doorways and hallways clear.
With hinged stairlift rails, the lower part of the rail folds away automatically to allow clear access downstairs.
Reconditioned or rental modular stairlifts can be installed very quickly, often next day or within two to three days. Our range of bespoke made-to-measure lifts for curved staircases take a little more time to arrange due to the manufacturing process, although they can usually be installed in your home within two to three weeks.
To avoid clashes, crushes and accidents; all our curved stairlift carriages and footplates have perimeter safety edges which detect obstructions and stop the lift from moving. There are additional safety micro-switches in seat arms and seat swivels, and many other general safety circuits and mechanisms to assure a smooth and safe ride.
When travelling to the top of your stairs, our stairlifts can usually be engineered so that the rail finishes in line with the top step - a 'flush finish'. Upon reaching the upper floor, you can then turn the seat onto the transfer area and safely exit the stairlift, fold everything away and park it neatly to keep the stairs free for pedestrians. If there is a doorway downstairs, we have access to specially engineered shorter rail starts, where feasible, and clever hinged rails that will automatically fold away to keep your doorways and walkways free from obstruction.
It is a common misconception that stairlifts are fixed to the wall in your home: they are simply fixed to the treads of your staircase. Non-invasive, if your stairs are carpeted, there will be no evidence of existence after removal - there is no drilling, dust or mess.
You might be surprised how little space a lift requires - remember that when not in use, all our lifts have folding arms, seats and footplates. For some more difficult or complicated staircases, we have products that can be programmed to cleverly rotate to avoid those narrow clash points.
A free no obligation survey will help give you a better understanding of what can be achieved in tighter stairwells.
Prices vary dependent whether you rent, buy new or reconditioned or if the stairlift is for straight or curved stairs. At Express Stairlifts we pride ourselves on our transparent pricing and if you can answer a few basic questions, we can usually quote accurately over the telephone.
On straight or modular curved stairlifts there is no deposit to pay - in fact there is nothing at all to pay until you have tried your installed stairlift and are completely satisfied. If not, we will remove the lift and there is no charge. On bespoke manufactured products, a deposit will be required but our advisers will explain how this works at the point of enquiry.
Most Straight Stairlifts can be recycled and reused and some Curved Stairlifts can also be remodelled and repurposed. Predominantly, Curved Stairlifts are more difficult to use again if they have what is called a bespoke rail - These are rails manufactured in a factory that are designed for a specific staircase - but certain other components can be reused. With many of our stairlifts we offer a Guaranteed Buy Back structure that can be explained and confirmed prior to purchase. For all Rental Stairlifts, the product will remain our property whilst on hire.
